Weather - Fourth graders research weather instruments as part of their science unit. They learned a great deal about maneuvering around the Internet and the importance of reading and following directions. Each group took notes on one several instrument, they wrote on informational paragraph, and then created a model of one of the instruments, which they displayed at the Academic Fair.
Virtual Vacation to Israel - They studied various cities with Morah Hadass, and then visited the computer lab to continue searching for facts. Each student first learned about the history of the city and then found exciting places to visit. They were able to type the pages for their books in both English and Hebrew using Microsoft Word and Text Editor.
Problem Based Learning - The fourth graders continued Problem Based Learning in the lab this year. These projects are designed to answer a question or solve a problem and generally reflect the types of learning and work people do in the everyday world outside the classroom. I'll post their questions soon!
